Our team comprises of innovative self starters who constantly want to empower the community. From computer scientists to entrepeneurs, our team has people of all backgrounds and experiences. An important element of HackCU is that all of our events are led exclusively by students. We teach and learn from our team members how to run and manage some of the largest technology events in the country. With this experience, our team members and alumni go on to work for some of the biggest names in tech and some even start their own companies.
Applications for the 2024-2025 school year are now open! If you are interested in joining any of the Marketing, Logistics, Workshops, Tech, or Finance sub-teams, please apply with the following form! Take a look at the team descriptions and email us if you have any questions.
The Logistics team is in charge of most of the planning/organizing involved in our big hackathons. This involves creating a timeline and breakdown of event tasks, recruiting industry members and judges, organizing hackathon side events, catering, and many more! They also work with other sub teams to make sure planning is running smoothly.
The Marketing team handles all of the advertising and creative projects for our club! We do everything from social media, newsletters, swag design, posters/flyers, as well as new website design for every annual hackathon that HackCU hosts. Many of the tools we use include Canva and Adobe, but we welcome all kinds of experience.
The Tech team is in charge of managing and maintaining our website, including creating new websites for each annual hackathon. Creating each site from scratch, the tech team has individuals that carry various levels of development experience. Many of these members also take the initiative to host some workshops on their tech skills!
The Finance team handles all of the finances for HackCU, including getting sponsorships, finding funding opportunities, and purchasing any other resources that help run our hackathons.
The Workshops team takes the lead in organizing various types of workshops that are held during our main hackathons, as well as throughout the school year. These workshops include everything from technical and design skills, all the way to product management and research.
